Color Models for Outdoor Machine Vision
نویسندگان
چکیده
This study develops models for illumination and surface reflectance for use in outdoor color vision, and in particular for predicting the color of surfaces under outdoor conditions. Existing daylight and reflectance models have limitations that reduce their applicability in outdoor contexts. This work makes three specific contributions: (i) an explanation of why the current standard CIE daylight model cannot be used to predict the color of light incident on outdoor surfaces, (ii) a model (table) of the measured color of daylight for a broad range of sky conditions, and (iii) a simplified adaptation of the dichromatic reflectance model for use with the developed daylight model. A series of experiments measure the accuracy of the daylight and reflectance models, and their applicability to outdoor color vision applications, by predicting the colors of surfaces in real images. c © 2001 Elsevier Science (USA)

متن کاملColor machine vision for autonomous vehicles
Color can be a useful feature in autonomous vehicle systems that are based on machine vision, for tasks such as obstacle detection, lane/road following, and recognition of miscellaneous scene objects. Unfortunately, few existing autonomous vehicle systems use color to its full extent, largely because color-based recognition in outdoor scenes is complicated, and existing color machine vision tec...
متن کاملContext - Based Vision : Recognizingobjects Using Information from Both
This paper describes results from an ongoing project concerned with recognizing objects in complex scene domains, and especially in the domain that includes the natural outdoor world. Traditional machine recognition paradigms assume either (1) that all objects of interest are deenable by a relatively small number of explicit shape models, or (2) that all objects of interest have characteristic,...
متن کاملDesign, Development and Evaluation of an Orange Sorter Based on Machine Vision and Artificial Neural Network Techniques
ABSTRACT- The high production of orange fruit in Iran calls for quality sorting of this product as a requirement for entering global markets. This study was devoted to the development of an automatic fruit sorter based on size. The hardware consisted of two units. An image acquisition apparatus equipped with a camera, a robotic arm and controller circuits. The second unit consisted of a robotic...
متن کاملتشخیص درب مبتنی بر بینایی ماشین در صحنههای بیرونی
Doors are a significant object for the visually impaired and robots to enter and exit buildings. Although the accuracy of door detection is reported high in indoor scenes, it has become a difficult problem in outdoor scenes in computer vision. The reason may lie in the fact that such properties of a simple ordinary door such as handles, corners, and the gap between the door and the ground may n...
